1. Who is responsible for personal data
AppVisia LTD (Company No. 17211529, 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9JQ, United Kingdom) is responsible for personal data collected through:
- idefnetvpn.com;
- website customer accounts;
- website subscription purchases;
- website billing and refunds;
- customer-support correspondence relating to website purchases.
UP IN THE AIR LTD (Company No. 14085421, 34 The Close, Harpenden, England, AL5 3NB) is the publisher of the iDefNet VPN iOS application and is responsible for personal data it independently collects or determines how to use through the iOS application.
The companies may exchange limited account and subscription-entitlement information where necessary to confirm that a customer has an active subscription, provide access to the Service, prevent fraud and provide customer support. AppVisia LTD and UP IN THE AIR LTD do not exchange full card details.
2. VPN traffic data
When establishing a VPN connection, technical information such as the source IP address must be processed temporarily so that the connection can function.
We do not use VPN traffic to create persistent records of:
- websites visited through the VPN;
- content transmitted through the VPN;
- DNS requests made through the VPN;
- browsing history associated with an identifiable customer.
3. Website and billing data
AppVisia LTD may collect:
- email address;
- account identifier;
- selected subscription plan;
- transaction identifier, payment status, amount and currency;
- billing country and limited billing information;
- cancellation and refund history;
- fraud and risk signals provided by payment processors;
- support correspondence.
Full card numbers are processed by Stripe or another payment provider and are not stored by AppVisia LTD.
The idefnetvpn.com website may use cookies for essential functionality and aggregated statistics. You can block cookies in your browser; the website will still work.
4. iOS application data
Depending on the application configuration and the features used, the iDefNet VPN iOS application may process:
- device and operating-system information;
- application version;
- product interaction and usage data;
- advertising data and advertising identifiers;
- crash logs and diagnostic information;
- subscription and entitlement status;
- connection errors and technical performance information.
Some application usage and advertising data may be processed by third-party advertising or analytics providers for advertising, analytics, fraud prevention, application functionality or crash reporting. Application analytics and advertising data are separate from the contents of VPN traffic. Details are disclosed in the App Privacy section of the App Store listing.
5. Purposes and legal bases
Personal data may be processed to:
- provide and administer the Service;
- create and maintain customer accounts;
- process payments, refunds and cancellations;
- verify subscription access;
- prevent fraud and abuse;
- provide customer support;
- comply with tax, accounting and legal obligations;
- diagnose crashes and technical problems;
- analyse application performance;
- provide advertising where advertising is included in the application and legally permitted.
Depending on the circumstances, processing is based on performance of a contract, compliance with legal obligations, legitimate interests or consent.
6. Sharing between the companies
AppVisia LTD may share account identifiers, email addresses and subscription-entitlement information with UP IN THE AIR LTD where necessary to activate or verify access in the iOS application. UP IN THE AIR LTD may send AppVisia LTD information necessary to verify app access, resolve support issues, prevent abuse and maintain the Service.
The companies do not exchange personal data for purposes unrelated to the Service unless separately disclosed and legally permitted.
7. Advertising and tracking
AppVisia LTD does not use website payment information to build advertising profiles.
The iOS application may use third-party advertising or analytics technologies that process application usage data or advertising identifiers, as disclosed in the App Store App Privacy information. Where consent is required, these technologies will not be activated until the required consent has been obtained.
8. Service providers
Personal data may be shared with service providers necessary to operate the Service, including:
- payment and fraud-prevention providers;
- hosting and cloud-infrastructure providers;
- email and customer-support providers;
- analytics and crash-reporting providers;
- advertising providers used in the iOS application;
- tax, accounting and professional advisers.
Service providers may process data only for the purposes for which they have been engaged, subject to applicable agreements and legal requirements.
9. International transfers
Some service providers may process data outside the United Kingdom or European Economic Area. Where required, appropriate safeguards are used, such as adequacy regulations or approved contractual clauses.
10. Data retention
Account data is kept while your subscription is active. If you delete your account or it remains inactive after your subscription ends, personal data is deleted within 12 months, except payment records that must be kept for tax purposes. You can request deletion at any time.
11. Your rights
If you are in the UK, EU/EEA or another jurisdiction with similar laws (GDPR, CCPA), you have the right to:
- access a copy of the personal data held about you;
- correct inaccurate data;
- request deletion of your data;
- restrict or object to processing;
- receive your data in a portable format;
- lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

12. Children
The Service is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version, with its effective date, is always published on this page. We will notify you by email or in the app before material changes take effect.
